Cassie’s mother expressed her daughter’s trauma after receiving an email from Cassie claiming Combs had discovered their affair with Kid Cudi and threatened to release compromising footage. The trial also heard about a break-in at Cudi’s home, where someone set fire to his car in retaliation for the alleged abuse.
Rapper Kid Cudi testified about the events surrounding the break-in and the firebombing of his car, claiming Combs was involved. Singer Dawn Richard shared her own experience of being threatened by Combs after witnessing his abuse of Cassie.
As the trial progressed, a lighthearted moment emerged when Combs’ former personal assistant joked about his love for applesauce during cross-examination. Despite the serious nature of the case, moments like these provided brief respite from the emotional testimony unfolding in court.
