Sean “Diddy” Combs’ sex trafficking trial is nearing its end, with prosecutors urging the jury to convict him on multiple charges. Assistant U.S. Attorney Christy Slavik told jurors that Combs committed numerous crimes, including kidnapping, bribery, and racketeering conspiracy, as part of a larger organized crime scheme.
Combs, 55, was accused of using his fame, wealth, and power to exploit and manipulate women, including his ex-girlfriends Cassie and Jane. Slavik presented evidence that showed Combs forced or coerced these women into participating in “freak-offs” – days-long sex marathons with drugs, violence, or threats.
Combs was also accused of using silence and shame to enable and prolong his abuse, relying on a network of employees to carry out his crimes. Prosecutors argued that the defendant’s inner circle made him even more powerful and dangerous, committing hundreds of racketeering acts in total.
The defense will present its closing argument on Friday, followed by a prosecution rebuttal. The jury is expected to deliberate soon after Judge Arun Subramanian instructs them on the law.
