Sean Combs, also known as “Diddy”, is facing a new development in his sex trafficking trial in New York. Two months before the trial begins, federal prosecutors have added additional allegations to the charges against him. The superseding indictment includes claims that Combs demanded sex from staff members who worked for him, and used physical force, psychological harm, and threats to coerce them into engaging in sex acts.
Combs was arrested in September last year and is awaiting trial on charges of racketeering, sex trafficking, and transportation to engage in prostitution. He has repeatedly denied the allegations and has been denied bail due to the seriousness of the charges. His defense team claims that he is innocent and many former employees are prepared to testify on his behalf.
In response to Combs’ motion to suppress evidence, prosecutors have stated that his arguments do not meet the standards for suppression, and that the warrants used to seize the evidence were properly executed. The case has taken a new turn, with many more allegations emerging against Combs in other cases, including assault, abuse, and rape.
Combs is currently incarcerated at Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center and is awaiting his trial, which is set to begin on May 5.
