Diet May Reduce Colon Cancer Death Risk

A recent study published at the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) annual meeting found that patients with stage III colon cancer who followed a less inflammatory diet had better survival rates compared to those who consumed pro-inflammatory diets. The study, which analyzed data from 1,625 patients enrolled in a clinical trial, showed that patients who ate anti-inflammatory diets and exercised regularly had a 63% lower risk of death compared to those with pro-inflammatory diets and low exercise levels. The findings suggest that dietary patterns may play a significant role in colon cancer outcomes after diagnosis.
