US President Donald Trump has said it’s time to “finish the job” and “get rid” of Hamas, following the US withdrawal from talks with the militant group. The move comes after the US deemed Hamas not acting in good faith during negotiations.
Meanwhile, a growing starvation crisis in Gaza has claimed at least nine more lives in the past 24 hours, bringing the total to 122 since October 2023. According to Gaza’s health ministry, foreign nations will soon be allowed to airdrop aid into Gaza, despite warnings of costs and dangers.
Hamas claims that a breakthrough was close before the US withdrawal, while an internal review found no evidence of widespread theft by Hamas of US-funded humanitarian aid in Gaza. Israel has denied creating famine and accused Hamas of engineering food shortages.
