Diplomats Meet in Geneva to Revive Iran Nuclear Talks

European diplomats met with their Iranian counterparts in Geneva on Tuesday to revive stalled talks on limiting Iran’s nuclear enrichment program. A landmark 2015 deal expires on October 18, and its European signatories are pushing for significant progress on a new agreement. The ultimatum: Iran must restart earnest negotiations on its uranium stockpile, account for nearly 400 kilograms of near-weapons-grade uranium, and restore access to U.N. inspectors from the International Atomic Energy Agency. Time is running out for Tehran to comply, with European diplomats having already offered an extension last month.
