Former Dallas Mavericks star Dirk Nowitzki expressed his support for Luka Doncic during their first game as teammates at the Los Angeles Lakers. The NBA superstar was “pretty down” after being traded away from his home team, according to Nowitzki. He revealed that he received a text from Doncic and wanted to be there for him, especially his family. Despite struggling in his early games with the Lakers, Nowitzki believes Doncic will eventually build chemistry with teammate LeBron James and prove doubters wrong. The Mavericks legend also showed no intention of switching sides, declaring “I’ll never be a Lakers fan, but I’ll always be a Luka fan.”
