Disable Apple Intelligence to Personalize Your iPhone Experience

A recent survey by SellCell found that 73% of Apple users think AI adds little to no value to the phone experience, while CNET reported that 25% are not interested in these new technologies. If you’re one of them, it’s easy to turn off Apple Intelligence entirely or selectively disable some features.

Apple Intelligence is a set of AI-powered features designed to enhance your iPhone experience. However, if you don’t want to be bombarded with notification summaries, writing tools, or image editing capabilities, you can do so by following these steps:

To turn off Apple Intelligence entirely, open the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad and select “Apple Intelligence & Siri.” Then, toggle off the “Apple Intelligence” option. Confirm your choice by tapping “Turn Off Apple Intelligence.”

Some notable features that will be disabled include writing tools, notification summaries, visual intelligence, Genmoji, image playground, and chatGPT support for Siri. However, some features like the Clean Up tool in Photos will remain active even after disabling Apple Intelligence.

If you want to disable specific features, such as text summaries in Messages notifications, navigate to Settings > Apps > Messages and toggle off the “Summarize Messages” option. For more advanced users, disabling writing tools system-wide can be achieved by going to Settings > Apple Intelligence & Siri and turning off the feature there.

Keep in mind that some apps may include an Apple Intelligence & Siri option in their settings, which can be turned on or off independently of the overall Apple Intelligence setting.
