Samsung has added a new feature to its One UI 7.0 update that allows users to disable Super HDR on their Galaxy S24 devices. This system-wide feature uses Google’s Ultra HDR format and captures images and videos with high dynamic range, displays them with higher brightness, and publishes them in HDR format.
With the previous update, Super HDR was only available in the stock Gallery app on One UI 6.1, but now it is accessible from the Settings » Advanced features menu. Disabling the feature will prevent the display from getting brighter when viewing images and videos in third-party apps like Instagram and Threads.
The Galaxy S24 devices are the first to support Super HDR, along with other compatible models such as the Galaxy S24+, Galaxy S24 Ultra, Galaxy Z Flip 6, Galaxy Z Fold 6, and the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition. Users can now enjoy a more customized viewing experience by disabling Super HDR on their devices.
Note: To disable Super HDR, navigate to Settings » Advanced features and toggle off the Super HDR setting.
