Microsoft and Discord are making it easier for people using Xbox consoles to communicate with friends and family. You can already share your gaming experiences on Discord, but now you’ll also be able to watch what your friends are doing, whether they’re playing games on a PC, phone, or Xbox.
Xbox Insiders will get this feature first, which lets them see what their friends are up to in real-time within the “happening now” section of the Xbox dashboard and during voice calls in Discord. You’ll be able to control the volume or mute your friend’s stream just like you would on the Discord app.
The new integration also makes it easier to make direct phone calls to your friends, so you won’t need to join a server call. Microsoft is also improving how much information you can see about your friends who use Xbox and Discord, including mutual servers, friends, and gamertags.
