Disney has announced new price increases for its streaming services, effective October 21. The standard ad-supported plan will cost $11.99 per month, a $2 rise from the current rate. The premium no-ads option will now be $18.99 per month or $189.99 annually.
Other bundles, including Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN options, will see price hikes of $3 per month. NFL+ plans remain unchanged at this time. These changes come as Disney faces backlash over its handling of “Jimmy Kimmel Live!”, with fans canceling their subscriptions in support of the host after he made comments about a conservative activist.
The company had previously hinted at these price increases during its third-quarter earnings call, citing expectations for modest growth in Disney+ subscribers in the fourth quarter.
