DJI has released a new foldable drone called the Flip, which aims to cater to photographers and videographers seeking portability and high-quality outdoor shooting capabilities. Priced at $439, it combines the simplicity of the DJI Neo with the features of the DJI Mini.
The Flip boasts 4K video recording at 60 frames per second, slow-motion footage at 100fps, and 48-megapixel stills with up to 4x zoom. Weighing 249 grams, it has a longer battery life compared to its predecessor, the Neo, which lasts 18 minutes on a single charge.
The drone also features automatic braking for high-altitude collisions, improved charging speeds, and Local Data Mode, allowing users to disconnect from the internet during flight. The Flip starts shipping in the US on Tuesday, although the company’s future plans for maintaining its presence in the market are uncertain.
