Djokovic Wins 100th Title in Thrilling Geneva Open Comeback

Novak Djokovic claimed his long-awaited 100th title after a spectacular comeback to defeat Hubert Hurkacz 5-7, 7-6 (2), 7-6 (2) at the Geneva Open final. The three-hour battle marked a significant milestone for Djokovic, becoming the third man in the open era to reach 100 titles.

Djokovic’s victory came after two previous opportunities to achieve the landmark title were lost. He had previously fallen short to Jannik Sinner and Jakub Mensik in the finals of the Shanghai Masters and Miami Open, respectively.

The 38-year-old Djokovic entered the Geneva Open as a wildcard after struggling with clay court losses earlier in the season. Despite being second-best for much of the final, he managed to turn the match around before closing out an emphatic final-set tiebreak.

Djokovic’s achievement marks his first title since winning the Paris Olympics last year. He will now shift his focus to the French Open, which begins on Sunday, where he will face Mackenzie McDonald in the first round.

Meanwhile, Emma Raducanu is working hard to regain full fitness for her upcoming match in Paris after struggling with back spasms at the Strasbourg Open. The 20-year-old Briton had a spasm during the tournament and has been doing treatment and practice on the court to try and recover quickly.
