Dodgers Acquire Eddie Rosario After Braves’ Historic World Series Run

The Los Angeles Dodgers signed outfielder Eddie Rosario to a minor league contract, according to multiple reports, after the Atlanta Braves defeated the New York Mets in six games to win the World Series. Rosario’s impressive 2021 NLCS performance, where he went 14 for 25 with four home runs and nine RBIs, may have been brought up around camp as a way to emphasize his abilities.

Rosario, 33, is a veteran of 10 major league seasons with the Minnesota Twins, Cleveland Guardians, Atlanta Braves, and Washington Nationals. He boasts a career .262/.298/.450 hitter with 169 home runs and 583 RBIs. Joining Rosario as non-roster invitees to crack the Dodgers’ roster are infielder Michael Chavis, and former Cubs third baseman David Bote.

The signing comes after the Dodgers had their World Series hopes dashed by the Braves in the NLCS. However, with a new season approaching, Los Angeles is looking to make a push for its first back-to-back World Series titles in 25 years.
