Dodgers Block ICE Agents from Stadium Entrance

The Los Angeles Dodgers say they denied entry to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents who arrived at the stadium on Thursday morning. The baseball team claims that despite the presence of federal agents near one main entrance, their security did not allow them to access the parking lots.

This development comes amid increased immigration enforcement in the city, which has led to protests and unrest. ICE denied being present at the stadium, while the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) claimed that personnel from another agency were “very briefly” in the parking lot.

The Dodgers’ move is seen as a response to the ongoing raids and protests in Los Angeles, which are part of President Donald Trump’s crackdown on immigration. The team has since announced $1 million (£743,000) to support families affected by these events.

Players, including Kiké Hernández, have voiced their opposition to the raids, calling them an “attack” on their community. The incident highlights the complex relationship between sports teams and immigration enforcement in the US, particularly in cities with large Latino populations.
