The Los Angeles Dodgers received a champion’s welcome at the White House on Monday morning as they celebrated their 2024 World Series title. The team was greeted by President Trump, who personally congratulated them on what he called an “legendary season.”
President Trump praised the Dodgers’ performances throughout the year, including knocking off New York teams in the playoffs. He also highlighted individual players like Shohei Ohtani and Clayton Kershaw.
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts was present at the ceremony, despite initially declining to visit the White House during Trump’s first term due to criticism on social media. Roberts received praise from Trump for his management skills, which he called “one of the greatest ever.”
Other players who attended the event included Mookie Betts and Max Muncy, who were invited to participate in the ceremony after initially being undecided.
The visit concluded with a tour of the Oval Office, where President Trump predicted that the Dodgers would return as champions in 2025.
