Rapper Doechii, named “Hip-Hop Disruptor of the Year” at Variety’s 2024 Hitmakers celebration, brought her unique style and energy to a one-of-a-kind performance at New York City’s Edge observation deck. As part of Samsung’s partnership with the rapper, the venue was transformed into a surreal “swamp in the sky” complete with mock-tropical scenery and fog.
Over 500 invited guests, dressed in stylish “casual chic,” mingled while enjoying free drinks and snacks. At 8 p.m., attendees streamed down to the observation deck, where Doechii took the stage at the edge of the deck. The rapper performed a high-energy set, including tracks like “Peanuts” and “Denial Is a River,” showcasing her skills despite wearing spike heels.
The performance was designed to keep the energy level up, avoiding slower songs that might have disrupted the atmosphere. After the show, attendees walked back through the themed area, eventually catching elevators back down to the ground floors, marking the end of an unforgettable experience at NYC’s Edge observation deck.
