The Dominican government has released a report on the deadly roof collapse at Jet Set nightclub, which left 221 people dead and over 4,500 emergency workers deployed to search for survivors. The report does not provide clarity on the causes of the tragedy.
A team of experts is continuing to investigate the structural failure, with 189 people rescued from the rubble and 17 still hospitalized. The venue was at full capacity during the concert, which was attended by around 700-1,000 people, according to local media and ticketing sites.
The National Institute of Forensic Pathology is working to identify the victims and return remains to relatives. President Luis Abinader will attend a memorial mass on Sunday, marking the last day of the national mourning period.
