US President Donald Trump has been using his Truth Social platform to release a flurry of bizarre posts since taking office in 2021. The small user base of the platform allows him to post without much scrutiny, which he often takes advantage of.
Trump’s recent posts can be broadly categorized into three types: attacking perceived foes, reposting praise, and posting no-context images or videos of himself. He has frequently targeted judges who won’t let him deport people without due process, claiming they are “OUT OF CONTROL”.
The president has also been critical of New York Attorney General Letitia James, accusing her of alleged mortgage fraud despite her denials. However, Trump’s account sometimes offers tender moments, such as his respectful posting about the death of Pope Francis.
In recent weeks, Trump has made several unusual announcements, including a call to halt all purchases of Iranian Oil and Petrochemical products. His posts often contain all-caps warnings, phrases like “Vladimir, STOP!”, and exaggerated claims. Despite being seen by only 5 million users per month, these messages can be spectacular.
Trump’s freeform and frequently unhinged posts on Truth Social have become a hallmark of his social media presence. The results of his tariffs are yet to be seen, but Trump’s thoughts and views disseminated hourly on the platform remain a spectacle.
