Doncic Finds Chemistry with LeBron as Lakers Dominate Nuggets

The Los Angeles Lakers have made a statement in their first few games since acquiring Luka Doncic, and it’s clear that the 25-year-old superstar is exactly what they needed to take their team to the next level. Doncic scored 32 points, grabbed 10 rebounds, dished out seven assists, and stole four passes in a dominant 123-100 win over the Denver Nuggets.

Doncic, who had his breakout game in Denver, said that he’s still developing chemistry with teammate LeBron James and the rest of the team. “Chemistry takes time,” he said. “You saw today that it’s getting better. Every day, it’s getting better.”

The Lakers’ performance was a testament to their new depth, as they held Nikola Jokic to just 2-of-7 shooting and forced him into six turnovers. Meanwhile, Doncic found his rhythm, hitting several key shots, including a step-back three-pointer that sparked a 10-0 run by the Lakers.

Doncic’s passion was on full display throughout the game, which included a technical foul for arguing with the referees after being hit in the head on his missed floater. Despite the loss, Nuggets coach Michael Malone acknowledged that the Lakers played well and shouldn’t be underestimated going forward.

The win marked the Lakers’ first victory in Denver since April 2022 and sets them up for what could be a deep playoff run. With Doncic at the helm, the Lakers appear to have finally found the piece they needed to complete their roster.
