Double Social Security Payments In May 2025 Due to Holiday

This year, Supplemental Security Income (SSI) recipients and eligible Social Security beneficiaries will receive two payments in May due to a holiday falling on June 1st. Normally, SSI payments are distributed on the first day of each month, but when that date coincides with a weekend or federal holiday, the payment is rescheduled.

As a result, SSI recipients who would normally receive their payment on June 1st will instead receive it on May 30th. Similarly, Social Security payments for August and December 2025 are also being advanced to earlier dates due to Labour Day and New Year’s holidays, respectively.

To check your eligibility for the benefit, visit the official website of the Social Security Administration. Eligibility criteria include being an American citizen aged 62+, having a disability or dependents, and meeting specific payment requirements.

Key Dates:

* May: 1st May (first payment) and 30th May (second payment)
* August: 29th August
* December: No advance payments scheduled

Important Notes:

* Verify the authenticity of this information by checking the official Social Security Administration website.
* Regular Social Security payments are typically distributed on the actual birth date of recipients.
