Dr Disrespect’s YouTube Channel Remonetized After 6-Month Ban

YouTube has remonetized the channel of popular streamer Guy “Dr Disrespect” Beahm, whose content had been demonetized for six months due to controversy surrounding a 2020 Twitch ban. The decision comes after Beahm deleted a confession about exchanging messages with a minor in 2017 and continued to deny any wrongdoing.

In June 2023, Beahm’s channel was dropped by sponsors and business partners following the backlash over his lifetime Twitch ban. He responded by accusing former Twitch staff of conspiring against him, but remained demonetized on YouTube despite an appeal last October.

However, in a surprise move, YouTube has reversed its decision and reinstated Beahm’s monetization privileges. The platform cited its Creator Responsibility policies as the reason for the reinstatement, stating that creators who are suspended can reapply after careful review of their recent activity.

Beahm announced the news to his viewers during a stream on January 30, thanking them for their support and joking about the timing of the decision. He also referenced the closure of his video game studio, Midnight Society, which had recently shut down due to the controversy surrounding his ban from Twitch.
