Drones Target Russian Steel Mill Amid Escalating Tensions

A massive drone attack hit Russia’s Lipetsk Oblast on February 13, targeting the Novolipetsk Steel facility, which produces a significant portion of the country’s steel output. The assault was carried out overnight, leaving power outages in several districts and injuring an employee who was hospitalized with shrapnel wounds.

According to regional governor Igor Artamonov, air defense systems successfully intercepted and destroyed 83 drones, including 12 in Lipetsk Oblast. However, Ukraine has not verified the claims made by Russia’s Defense Ministry.

The incident follows a recent strike on January 3, when Ukrainian drones targeted an oil refinery in Volgograd and a gas processing plant in Astrakhan. Tensions between Russia and Ukraine continue to escalate.
