Duchess Meghan Reconnects with Instagram After 3 Years

Duchess Meghan, wife of Prince Harry, has rejoined Instagram after a three-year absence. Her new account, @meghan, launched on New Year’s Day with a celebratory video shot by her husband at their California home.

The 43-year-old royal shared a short Reel, running toward the water and writing “2025” in the sand, showcasing her decision to reconnect with social media. The account already has 281K followers and is growing rapidly.

Meghan stepped back from senior royal duties in 2020 and moved to the US, citing racism within the royal family and attacks in British tabloids. She previously ditched her personal Instagram account during her courtship with Prince Harry and joined their joint @sussexroyal account run by Buckingham Palace officials.

In a surprise move, Meghan has launched a new account, focusing on bringing joy and positive connection through social media. This comes after she hinted at a potential return to Instagram in an August 2022 interview, revealing it was a “huge adjustment” to leave behind her previous online presence.
