The account, @meghan, now boasts over 200,000 followers. Meghan and Prince Harry initially left their joint royal Instagram account, @KensingtonRoyal, to launch their own separate page, @SussexRoyal, in 2019. However, they discontinued this account in 2020, when they stepped back from official royal duties.
Meghan had previously expressed interest in returning to the platform, stating she would “get back” on Instagram in a 2022 interview with New York Magazine’s The Cut. She has also spoken out about the need for social media platforms to strengthen content moderation policies to protect young users’ mental health.
