Duke Dominates Miami 97-60 Behind Freshman Trio

Miami, FL – Duke proved its dominance in the ACC with a convincing 97-60 win over Miami on Tuesday night at the Watsco Center. The Blue Devils’ freshman trio of Cooper Flagg, Kon Knueppel, and Isaiah Evans combined for 52 points and 11 rebounds, leading the team to a strong offensive performance.

The game was marred by an injury to Miami junior guard Tyrese Proctor, who left the court with a knee injury after just over 37 seconds into the first half. Despite this setback, Duke continued to dominate, particularly in the second half where they went on a 20-4 run to build their lead.

The Blue Devils’ defense was also impressive, holding Miami to just over half of its season average in shooting percentage. Freshman guard Jalil Bethea had a standout first half, scoring 11 points and going 4-for-9 from three-point range before being held to just two points in the second half.

Duke’s coach Jon Scheyer praised his team’s performance, saying “Great performance, proud of these guys” and acknowledging the maturity and approach of his young players. The win marks Duke’s 16th victory in the ACC, with its next game scheduled for Saturday against Florida State at home.

With a strong offensive showing and solid defensive play, Duke continues to dominate in the ACC, led by its talented freshman trio.
