Duke guard Tyrese Proctor suffered an apparent knee injury late in the first half of Tuesday’s 97-60 win over Miami, and his status for future games is uncertain.
Proctor was hit in the leg while defending a fast break, causing his left knee to buckle. He hobbled off the court with 36.3 seconds remaining in the half and did not return to the game. Coach Jon Scheyer said Proctor will undergo X-rays and an MRI when the team returns to North Carolina.
“I know he didn’t want to get it in this fashion,” Scheyer said. “We have to get him back, get X-rays, MRI.”
Proctor’s injury occurred with 36.3 seconds left in the half. He finished with seven points in 14 minutes and was replaced by Isaiah Evans in the second half. The Blue Devils were led by Cooper Flagg (19.4 points) and Kon Knueppel (13.5 points), but Proctor still managed to eclipse the 1,000-point mark for his Duke career.
