EA Makes Wider Cuts Across Organization, Affecting 300 Employees

Electronic Arts (EA) has made significant job cuts across its organization, impacting around 300 employees in addition to the 100 reported at Respawn Entertainment earlier today. The wider cuts largely affect EA’s Experiences team, which includes groups such as Fan Care, customer support, and marketing teams.

An EA spokesperson stated that the company is focusing on long-term strategic priorities and making changes to align teams and allocate resources for future growth. The employees impacted will be given opportunities to apply for other roles internally before being let go.

Notably, these cuts follow previous layoffs at EA, including 50 jobs at BioWare in 2023 and an unknown number more at Codemasters. A larger restructuring in 2024 resulted in 670 workers laid off company-wide, with around two dozen employees from Respawn affected.

Affected employees at Respawn included development, publishing, and QA workers on Apex Legends, as well as smaller groups working on the Jedi team and canceled incubation projects. The cuts come after EA restructured BioWare earlier this year, moving developers to other projects and laying off others.
