Eagles Add QB Ian Book, RB Lew Nichols to Practice Squad

The Philadelphia Eagles have signed quarterback Ian Book and running back Lew Nichols to their practice squad.

Head Coach Nick Sirianni expressed his enthusiasm for Book’s college career, describing it as “highly productive”. Book had a successful stint with the New Orleans Saints before joining the Eagles on waivers at the end of 2022. He played two games in 2022 but was cut from the roster, and spent time with the Patriots’ practice squad in 2023.

Nichols returns to the Eagles after spending Training Camp and preseason with the team last year. The fifth-year running back had a standout rookie season at Central Michigan, earning Conference honors for his rushing and receiving yards.

Meanwhile, cornerback Tariq Castro-Fields has been released from the practice squad to make room for Book and Nichols.

The Eagles’ upcoming game against their longtime rivals will be a historic matchup with 130 games between the two teams since 1960.
