Eagles-Browns Joint Practice Showdown: Hurts Struggles, Ringo Stumbles

The Philadelphia Eagles and Cleveland Browns faced off in their joint practice for the 2025-26 season, with mixed results. Quarterback Jalen Hurts struggled to find his rhythm, while cornerback Kelee Ringo had a disappointing outing.

A.J. Brown was held out of practice due to a hamstring injury, but it didn’t appear to be serious. The Eagles’ offense struggled without their top wide receiver, and guard Landon Dickerson’s recent knee injury made things worse. Tight end Dallas Goedert was one of the few beneficiaries of the pass offense, catching several passes from Hurts.

Ringo, who is competing with Adoree’ Jackson for the cornerback spot, had a rough day. He was beaten by Jerry Jeudy on a deep route and didn’t contain the receiver effectively. On the other hand, Jakorian Bennett had a solid practice, breaking up an early pass to Jeudy and showing tight coverage.

Tyler Steen, a backup guard, had a couple of strong reps against defensive tackle Mason Graham during one-on-ones. The Browns’ defense, led by Jim Schwartz, mixed their calls and kept the Eagles’ offense guessing.

The Eagles’ defense also struggled at times, particularly with Hurts, who had several interceptions. However, linebacker Azeez Ojulari notched a sack with the first unit and set the edge on several rushes.

The Browns’ defense showed more promise, with Jeremiah Trotter Jr. making several tackles and cornerbacks Cooper DeJean and Quinyon Mitchell disrupting plays. Defensive tackles Jordan Davis and Jalen Carter also made impressive plays, shooting into the backfield for tackle for losses.

In conclusion, neither team emerged victorious from their joint practice. The Eagles struggled to find consistency on offense, while the Browns’ defense showed flashes of brilliance. The two teams will face off again in a preseason game on Saturday at Lincoln Financial Field.
