Eagles Celebrate Second Lombardi Trophy with Wild Super Bowl Parade

Philadelphia erupted in celebration Friday as the city welcomed its beloved Eagles team after capturing their second Lombardi Trophy. The all-day parade, which drew over a million fans, featured players tossing beers and hoisting babies high in the air.

The festivities kicked off with a video montage of Eagles highlights from Super Bowl LIX, including Cooper DeJean’s birthday pick-six, played on massive screens along the route. Players addressed the city from the Rocky Steps, with longtime voice Merrill Reese hailing the team as “the greatest in modern Eagles history.”

Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie noted that the city’s love affair with the team culminated with a championship parade on Valentine’s Day. The highlight of the afternoon came when wide receiver A.J. Brown delivered a fiery speech, saying “I’m a f–kin’ champion” as fans chucked full cans of beers to players.

The parade route was chaotic, with players stopping multiple times to exit their buses and interact with crowds waiting hours for a chance to meet them. The city’s security concerns were evident, with long lines at SEPTA stations and some stations closed due to the large crowd.

Despite the challenges, fans like Northern Philly artist Roberto Lugo were overjoyed by the parade. “This is a bucket-list item for me,” he told Axios. The Eagles’ second Lombardi Trophy victory marks a triumphant return to form for the team, which averaged over 36 points per game in the playoffs and avenged their 2023 championship loss with a 40-22 win over the Chiefs.
