Eagles Fall to Browns in Preseason Opener, 22-13

Philadelphia, PA – The Philadelphia Eagles suffered a 22-13 loss to the Cleveland Browns in their Week 2 preseason opener on Saturday. Quarterbacks Dorian Thompson-Robinson and Kyle McCord shared playing time at quarterback.

The game got off to a strong start for the Browns, with Ahmani Marshall scoring a 4-yard touchdown run. However, Andrew Mukuba quickly turned the tables with an interception return of 75 yards, giving the Eagles their first score.

Azeez Ojulari and Mukuba also made key plays on defense, including a sack and fumble recovery. Meanwhile, Ainias Smith scored his second preseason touchdown of the season, bringing in a 9-yard pass from McCord.

The Browns responded with a field goal and took the lead, but the Eagles tied it up before Dorian Thompson-Robinson was intercepted for a pick six. The Browns sealed the win with a late field goal.

In statistical breakdowns, Kyle McCord led the Eagles with 47 passing yards and one touchdown, while Dillon Gabriel had 143 yards passing and an interception. Ainias Smith led the receivers with 19 yards, and Montrell Johnson Jr. led the rushers with 20 yards.

The Eagles will return to practice on Monday ahead of Friday’s preseason finale against the New York Jets.
