Eagles Return to Practice After Brutal Heat

The Philadelphia Eagles returned to practice on Monday after an off day on Sunday, donning shells and shorts as they prepared for their first full-padded practice on Tuesday. Despite the brutal heat, the team was sharp, with several key observations worth noting.

Injury Report:
DeVonta Smith, Andrew Mukuba, Danny Gray, and Smael Mondon did not practice due to various injuries. Jalen Carter returned in a limited fashion after missing the first three days of practice.

Depth Chart Notes:
Ainias Smith got significant work with the first team without DeVonta Smith on the field, alongside A.J. Brown and Jahan Dotson. Tyler Steen continues to work as the first-team right guard, while Matt Pryor and Darian Kinnard are competing for second-team reps.

Coverage Units Shone:
The Eagles’ coverage units had a strong day in team drills, with several key plays standing out. Quinyon Mitchell picked off Jalen Hurts on his first interception of training camp, and Sydney Brown broke up an underneath throw from Tanner McKee to Cameron Latu.

Notable Reps:
Zack Baun had a quiet practice, but Jeremiah Trotter Jr. had a standout play against the run. Cooper DeJean got more reps at safety next to Reed Blankenship, while rookie Mac McWilliams made a pass breakup in the end zone.

O-Line vs. D-Line 1-on-1 Drills:
The O-line and D-line had a fun practice, with several highlights worth noting. Moro Ojomo showed off his swim move against Landon Dickerson, while Ty Robinson impressed with his club against Laekin Vakalahi.

Overall, it was a solid day for the Eagles’ coverage units and some of their young players made notable impressions in their first week of training camp.
