The Philadelphia Eagles played their first preseason game against the Cincinnati Bengals, with several notable performances in various positions. Quarterback Tanner McKee led the way, throwing for 252 yards and two touchdowns on 20 of 25 attempts. He also showed his athleticism by scoring a touchdown on a “Tush Push.”
Tight end Ainias Smith impressed with three catches for 11 yards, including a touchdown and a long punt return that raised questions about his fielding abilities. Cooper had six catches for 82 yards and a touchdown, demonstrating potential for the rookie wide receiver.
Defensive tackle Dallas Gant and safety Tariq Castro-Fields were notable performers, however, there is more to their story than what was shown in this one game.
Safety Lewis Cine also stood out, playing alongside several other promising young players, including Tristin McCollum and Sydney Brown. The second team unit performed well overall, with the third team unit struggling at times.
The Eagles’ starting center, Trevor Keegan, was solid as expected, while defensive tackle Jeremiah Trotter had a strong game with six tackles.
Overall, it appears that McKee remains a top contender for the backup quarterback role.
