With under a minute remaining and an eight-point lead, Florida State was expected to seal the game with ease. However, things took a dramatic turn when Boston College’s Chas Kelley III corralled an inbound pass that sailed over Jamir Watkins’ head. Kelley then launched a 3-pointer from six seconds out, hitting it to put the Eagles ahead by one.
Florida State used its final timeout but was unable to secure a game-winning shot. The Seminoles coughed up a four-point lead with just over 14 seconds left and led by seven points only 37 seconds prior. Boston College’s clutch performance marked their second ACC win of the season, while Florida State fell to 13-9 overall and 4-7 in conference play.
