Researchers analyzed data from millions of patients and found common pre-Alzheimer conditions like depression, sleep disorders, high blood pressure, and type 2 diabetes, which can occur years before symptoms appear. A comparison of over 43,000 patients with Alzheimer’s and nearly 420,000 without it showed significant differences in medical histories. Mental health issues, cardiovascular diseases, and metabolic disorders were more frequent among future Alzheimer’s patients. The study emphasizes that early detection and management of these conditions may help prevent dementia risk.
