Eating Sweets May Lower Heart Attack Risk, Study Finds

A new study suggests that indulging in sweets may actually lower your risk of heart attack and stroke. Researchers found that Swedes who consumed two servings of sugary foods or drinks per day had a 25% lower risk of stroke and a 22% lower chance of a heart attack.

The study, which followed almost 70,000 people over 22 years, also discovered that eating jam with porridge could reduce the risk of heart failure by up to 11%. The investigation used questionnaires to track sugar intake, as well as data on sugary drinks and sweet treats.
