Elden Ring: Nightreign Can Be Played Solo, Director Says

FromSoftware’s director Junya Ishizaki has confirmed that players can indeed play Elden Ring: Nightreign solo, despite its multiplayer focus. In a recent interview with GameSpot, Ishizaki stated that while the game is designed as a multiplayer experience, it also allows for solo play and flexibility.

When asked if FromSoftware was worried about taking away from the sense of isolation found in their games, Ishizaki responded, “You don’t have to babysit one another, but eventually it will culminate in this shared experience of a cooperative boss battle.” He emphasized that the game is designed to feel like a loose and flexible experience, retaining some of its solo-player feel.

However, it’s worth noting that Nightreign lacks single-player scaling, meaning enemies are numerous, and players cannot revive without the help of a friend. But for those willing to take on the challenge, Elden Ring: Nightreign is set to release on May 30, with beta access available for select players.
