FromSoftware and Bandai Namco have released a new trailer for Elden Ring Nightreign, the upcoming multiplayer co-op action game set to launch on May 30, 2025. The 10-minute presentation provides an overview of the basics, including gameplay mechanics, world layout, enemies, and playable characters.
The world of Limveld, where the game takes place, is said to be an ancient world that once thrived thanks to the power of gods, but now erodes due to a terrible night. The layout will change each time you enter for a new session, offering varying gameplay experiences through network tests. The presentation also delves into the different enemies you’ll face and how to survive the night.
You can play as eight Nightfarers at launch, with four already available in the network test: Duchess, Guardian, Wylder, and Recluse. Two more characters, Ironeye and Raider, have received separate character trailers, while a third was only briefly shown. The presentation skips over one of the playable characters, leaving fans wondering about its identity.
The Roundtable Hold serves as your base of operations between night raids, where you can level up permanent traits and acquire cosmetics reminiscent of previous FromSoftware games. Lore hunters will also uncover “Fragments of Lost Memory” providing hints about each Nightfarer’s past.
While the presentation provides a good overview, it has some glaring absences that leave more questions than answers. The world of Nightreign is separate from Elden Ring, but it remains to be seen if there are any connections or overlaps with other FromSoftware games.
