Elon Musk’s plans to launch his “America Party” appear to have been shelved, just three months after its announcement. According to sources, Musk told associates he wanted to focus on his companies and avoid starting a party that could siphon voters from the GOP. The billionaire has also maintained ties with Vice President JD Vance, who is considered the heir apparent to the MAGA movement.
Musk’s decision comes after a series of public spats with former President Donald Trump, which began shortly after Musk left the White House in May. Musk criticized the Trump administration’s legislative proposals and even posed questions to his followers about starting a new political party.
However, the feud appears to have cooled, with Trump recently wishing Musk well on Twitter. Despite this, Musk has not formally ruled out launching the America Party, which could be revisited as the 2026 midterms approach.
