Elon Musk recently made accusations against transgender individuals for attacking Tesla owners and their property without evidence. This comes amid a recent wave of nationwide boycotts, attacks, and vandalism targeting Tesla dealerships and charging stations.
Musk had previously described the attacks as “evil” and stated that the level of violence is “insane and deeply wrong.” However, in a social media post on March 20, Musk suggested a connection between transgender populations and the acts of violence without providing any data to support his claim.
Research has consistently shown that trans people are disproportionately victims of violence, not perpetrators. A UCLA School of Law report released in February found that LGBT victims of violence experience more violent attacks and suffer injuries at higher rates than non-LGBT individuals.
Meanwhile, Musk’s daughter Vivian Jenna Wilson described him as “a pathetic man-child” in a recent interview with Teen Vogue. She stated that she does not care about her father’s opinions and is annoyed by people associating her with him.
Vivian also addressed the misconception that her father became more conservative due to her gender identity, saying it is not true and unfair to those who are affected by such narratives. The 20-year-old has been open in her criticism of Musk on social media and is now speaking out in support of the trans community, particularly their protection from violent attacks.
As President Donald Trump’s administration continues to target trans minors, Vivian emphasized the importance of standing up for the trans youth community and protecting them from harm.
