Elon Musk has admitted admitting he cheated at video games to boost his scores, as shown in a private conversation transcript. This comes amid claims that he bragged about being a globally-ranked player, a status that raises questions about how he found time to compete while managing businesses like Tesla and SpaceX and political activities alongside Donald Trump.
Musk has often boasted about his gaming prowess, including claiming to be among the top players in Diablo IV and Path of Exile 2—two notoriously hard-to-play games. These claims have sparked concern about his ability to juggle his roles as a billionaire and public figure.
The conversation with top Diablo player NikoWrex on X confirmed Musk’s admission to “account boosting,” a practice where others pay to gain advantages in games. Musk later stated it’s impossible for him to compete against players in Asia without such help, given their superior resources.
Despite not independently verifying the transcript, Musk reposted it and interacted with NikoWrex on X before.Canadian musician Grimes, who has known him personally, provided additional support by stating she had seen him excel in Diablo IV in the U.S., though she emphasized other credible witnesses exist.
Further allegations emerged when Musk’s Path of Exile 2 character was active during his time in Washington attending Trump’s inauguration.
