Elon Musk Protests Erupt Outside US and European Tesla Showrooms

Protesters against billionaire Elon Musk gathered outside Tesla showrooms in the US and Europe, targeting the company’s dealerships and vehicles. The protesters aim to escalate a movement opposing Musk’s role as head of the newly created Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). Musk has been accused of accessing sensitive data and shutting down entire agencies to slash government spending.

The protests, organized by groups including disillusioned Tesla owners and celebrities like John Cusack, gathered in front of at least 277 Tesla showrooms across the US. Demonstrators demanded Musk’s resignation from government and expressed concerns about his influence on the company.

Environmentalists claim that stopping Musk will “save lives and protect our democracy.” Some protesters held signs comparing Musk to Adolf Hitler, while others wore costumes to highlight their opposition. In London, protesters displayed a sign with a photo of Musk next to an image of the Nazi salute.

While some have resorted to vandalism, including setting Tesla vehicles on fire, Musk has condemned these acts as “domestic terrorism.” The protests have sparked concerns about Musk’s influence and sales figures, which have been declining in Europe despite growing electric vehicle demand.

Musk remains optimistic, saying that his company will regain its position as the best-selling car manufacturer. However, the protests continue to raise questions about the billionaire’s role in government and his impact on Tesla’s operations.
