Elon Musk Sued by OpenAI CEO Sam Altman Over Harassment Allegations

Elon Musk is being sued by OpenAI CEO Sam Altman over allegations of harassment and trying to harm the company. The two co-founded OpenAI in 2015, but Musk left before it became a major player in the tech industry. In 2023, Musk created his own AI firm, xAI.

Musk has tried to stop OpenAI from transitioning to a for-profit model, which is required to secure $40 billion in funding from investors. He claims that Altman and others have strayed from the company’s original mission of developing artificial intelligence for the benefit of mankind.

However, OpenAI says Musk has used every tool available to harm the company, including press attacks, malicious campaigns on social media, and demands for corporate records. The company denies the allegations and asks the court to order Musk to cease his public attacks.

Musk’s legal team responded by citing an unsolicited $97.4 billion takeover bid that was rejected by OpenAI last year. However, OpenAI claims this bid was a legitimate attempt to purchase the company and not a malicious tactic to disrupt its plans.
