Elon Musk to Step Down as Cost-Cutting Advisor by May End

US President Donald Trump’s billionaire ally Elon Musk is set to leave his role as cost-cutting advisor at the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) by the end of May. In a recent interview with Fox News, Musk stated that he has “done” in reducing the US deficit, which had been reduced to $6 trillion after cutting $1 trillion from the budget.

Musk’s team, which includes top aides and Tesla executives, has been working to slash waste, fraud, and abuse in various government agencies. They claim to have saved taxpayers $115 billion as of March 24 through workforce reductions, asset sales, and contract cancellations.

The cost-cutting efforts, led by Musk, aim to halve the annual federal deficit. However, amid nationwide protests against Tesla’s electric vehicles, Musk is facing criticism and lawsuits claiming DOGE acted without legal authority. Despite this, Musk remains optimistic about the future, stating that it will be “incredibly bright and exciting.”

Musk’s departure from DOGE could mark the end of his cost-cutting efforts. As he prepares to leave, he emphasized that the critical government programs will continue to function, and America will become solvent.
