Elon Musk’s Family Life: A Complex Web of Relationships and Children

Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, has been in the news for his high-profile relationships and family life. In 2000, he married Canadian author Justine Wilson, with whom he had three children before their divorce in 2008.

Musk’s first child, Nevada Alexander Musk, passed away at just 10 weeks old due to sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS). The couple then turned to in vitro fertilization (IVF) to expand their family. In 2004, they welcomed twins Griffin and Vivian Musk, now 20 years old.

Musk also had triplet sons, Kai, Saxon, and Damian, through IVF in 2006. However, the 19-year-olds stay out of the public eye. The couple divorced in 2008 due to personal reasons.

In recent years, Musk has been dating singer Grimes, with whom he shares three children: X AE A-XII, born in May 2020; Exa Dark Siderael Musk, born through surrogacy in December 2021; and a third child, nicknamed “Tau,” born in June 2022.

Musk also has twins with Neuralink director Shivon Zilis, who were born in November 2021. The couple recently filed a petition to change the twins’ names to include both their father’s and mother’s last names.

In February 2025, author Ashley St. Clair claimed that she had given birth to Elon Musk’s child just months before, but no further information is available at this time.

Elon Musk has been keeping his personal life private due to a recent high-profile custody dispute with Grimes. Despite the controversy, Musk remains one of the most influential figures in the tech industry.
