Elon Musk is facing a backlash after the release of millions of documents from the Justice Department’s investigation into deceased financier Jeffrey Epstein. The documents reveal that Musk repeated email exchanges with Epstein, including inquiries about parties, and discussed arranging to meet on Epstein’s island. Musk also asked Epstein if he had any parties planned for Christmas Day in 2012, seeking to “let loose” after a year of working tirelessly.
Musk’s brother Kimbal Musk also corresponded with Epstein about a romantic partner, and Epstein allegedly introduced Kimbal to the woman without disclosing her age. The documents paint a vastly different picture of Epstein’s relationship with the Tesla CEO than Musk has claimed. When asked about his interactions with Epstein, Musk said he declined repeated invitations to visit the financier’s island but expressed regret over being associated with someone who committed serious crimes.
Despite this, many have questioned Musk’s sincerity on the issue, pointing out that his efforts to reframe the narrative around his involvement with Epstein feel like an attempt to mislead the public. Some experts have suggested that Musk should be investigated for his connections to Epstein, regardless of his social or financial status.
