Elon Musk is reviving a strategy he used during the 2024 presidential election to influence voter behavior in Wisconsin. His super PAC, America PAC, is offering $100 to registered voters who sign a petition opposing “activist judges.” The petition aims to attract conservative-leaning voters and collect data on those most likely to support the Republican candidate for the Wisconsin Supreme Court, Brad Schimel.
Musk used a similar approach in battleground states before the November election, generating significant legal and political debate. In Pennsylvania, the Philadelphia district attorney sued to stop the distribution of lottery-style payouts, but a judge declined to halt the sweepstakes just days before the election.
America PAC’s revival of this tactic reveals Musk’s priorities: securing control of the Wisconsin Supreme Court and undermining judges perceived as blocking President Trump’s agenda. The group has spent over $11 million on efforts to elect Judge Schimel, who is a longtime Trump supporter.
Musk’s involvement in state politics continues to draw attention, particularly his lawsuits targeting manufacturers’ ownership of dealerships. He recently urged voters to support the Republican candidate for the Wisconsin Supreme Court to prevent “voting fraud.”
This latest move has sparked controversy, with critics questioning Musk’s motivations and the impact on democratic processes.
