US Women’s National Team (USWNT) head coach Emma Hayes has announced her 23-player roster for the 2025 SheBelieves Cup. The roster features four uncapped players, including three from January’s Futures camp.
Hayes’ emphasis on depth and opportunities across the team is evident in the selection process. However, injuries have forced some key players to sit out, with forward Trinity Rodman, midfielder Rose Lavelle, and centerback Naomi Girma missing the tournament due to various reasons.
The roster boasts a more European presence compared to January’s training camp, thanks to the games falling in a FIFA window. Seven players will be competing in Europe, including Manchester United goalkeeper Phallon Tullis-Joyce as a training player.
“We’ll be patient with many players at the beginning of their club preseasons,” Hayes said, “while maximizing the time we have together.” The team is set to face three excellent teams with different styles, making the tournament a great test for the players.
The roster includes several newcomers, such as defender Gisele Thompson and forward Michelle Cooper from the KC Current. Meanwhile, goalkeepers Jane Campbell and Mandy McGlynn will return to camp after January’s training camp.
The 2025 SheBelieves Cup marks an evaluation year for Hayes, with ten players on this roster having four or fewer caps. As the team inches closer to World Cup qualifiers in 2026 and the 2027 World Cup, Hayes’ focus is on finding the right balance between depth and competition.
The tournament format returns to its normal six matches across three game days. The winner will be determined by total points, with goal differential being the first tie-breaker.
