Envision, a global leader in assistive technology for the blind and low-vision community, has partnered with nanotechnology company Solos to bring its AI-powered app Ally to the Solos AirGo smart glasses platform. The integration is now available for pre-order and will start shipping in October 2025.
The Solos AirGo smart glasses support Envision’s Ally app, which offers features like real-time text recognition, object identification, scene description, and facial recognition using voice commands. The glasses are designed to be worn comfortably all day, with a lightweight (42g) frame that is splash-resistant and stylish.
Ally will utilize Solos’ AI-powered capabilities, including SolosChat and SolosTranslate, as well as Whisper directional audio. The glasses also feature customizable SmartHinge front frames and support prescription lenses.
According to Kenneth Fan, co-founder of Solos, “At Solos, we believe in the power of smart glasses to solve real-world problems while integrating seamlessly into everyday life and style.” Envision’s CEO Karthik Mahadevan added that partnering with Solos will bring together cutting-edge AI and inclusive design to help people who are blind or have low vision move through the world with more confidence, comfort, and independence.
